Rock Camp is an institution and cultural phenomenon that has been going on in Los Angeles, New York and other cities since 1996. The brainchild of music producer David Fishof, Rock Camp boasts a jaw-dropping array of rock star “counselors” that include Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, Nancy Wilson, Joe Perry, Jeff Beck, Slash and countless other rock legends. The counselors teach, inspire and jam with the campers over the course of four days. Each Rock Camp concludes with all of the counselors and their respective campers, performing together.

The 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place on March 29 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Def Leppard, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music, the Zombies and the Cure make up the Class of 2019. They were inducted by a star-studded group of peers including Brian May of Queen, Harry Styles, David Byrne, Simon Le Bon and John Taylor of Duran Duran, Susannah Hoffs of the Bangles and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. An artist is eligible for the hall of fame 25 years after their first commercial release. The nominating committee creates a shortlist, according to the Hall’s official website, and then sends the ballot to “more than 1,000 historians, members of the music industry and artists — including every living Rock Hall inductee.” The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has selected the top five vote-getters for induction in the past, but this year seven artists were inducted (Janet Jackson also made the final cut; she was inducted by Janelle Monae).

Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert is an American musical television special that was broadcast live on NBC on April 1, 2018 (Easter Sunday). Executive produced by Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, and Marc Platt, it was a staged concert performance of the 1970 rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. The live production included an on-camera audience of about 1,500 people. Some of these extras lined two sides of the stage and formed a mosh pit effect. The production was expected to utilize as many as twelve cameras to film the special. In addition, a full dress rehearsal performance took place on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in front of an invited audience and was recorded. In the event of any difficulties during the live broadcast, the recording served as an emergency backup. It was ultimately not needed.
