In the year 2092, space is full of dangerous floating garbage like discarded satellites and deserted spaceships. The crew of a space junk collector ship called The Victory discovers a humanoid robot that’s known to be a weapon of mass destruction. They get involved in a risky business deal and travel through space looking for garbage they can make money off of while also competing with rival junk collectors.

At this time, Major Kenji Hatanaka and other young commissioned officers, who are against Japan surrendering, move to occupy the palace and a radio broadcasting station. The radio station is set to broadcast Emperor Hirohito reading out the Imperial Rescript on the Termination of the War.

Although there really isn’t much of a “chase” to be seen, Shihomi does pursue a cartel of drug runners and assorted Japanese yakuza types. While the story is pure 70’s exploitation and gritty crime drama, the best reason to see it is for the Martial Arts Action of Etsuko Shihomi. The action is over-the-top and at times hilarious (i.e. Shihomi battling the lead criminal atop a moving gondola or Shihomi battling a whip-wielding Catholic Nun).

Natsume, who knows the visitor is a youkai, worries for Tanuma, but Tanuma enjoys these exchanges with the youkai. The youkai means no harm, but Tanuma’s health slowly starts to deteriorate.
