January 1942, in Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II. Thousands of Jews have been confined to the Warsaw ghetto for more than a year. The story takes place in the summer of 1995 outside of Gothenburg, Sweden, during the rise of Neo-Nazi violence that was sweeping across the country.
