Set high atop snow-capped mountains in the adrenaline-fueled world of competitive snowboarding, the Disney Channel Original Movie “Cloud 9″ tells the inspiring story of two snowboarders who must overcome self-doubt to learn that achieving their dreams is possible.

18-year-old Jesús lives with his stern, somewhat unaffectionate father in Santiago, Chile. When not doing drugs, having casual sex or simply slouching in front of the TV, Jesús and his friends perform in a K-pop boyband. But his routine is thrown into chaos one evening when he and his drunken posse viciously assault a young gay man and leave him for dead. It’s an act that propels Jesús into a profound moral crisis which have severe consequences.

When Alana, a naïve stripper, is raped by her boss, Stag, and his drug dealer friend, she turns to her fellow dancers for help. Joined by the beautiful Roxy and seductive Crystal, they hatch a plan to kidnap Stag and force him to give them the combination to his safe. Using his own vices against him, they seduce and drug him. When he wakes he is cuffed in his office where three women he has wronged in different ways hold him captive. This short film represents the first to be made by the internationally recognized Quay Brothers in the United States. While not a stop-motion animation film, a form for which the Quays are best known, the entire film is vibrantly constructed and ‘animated’.
