In this goofy comedy, Mark Ruffalo (ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND) stars as Alex, a struggling painter going through a particularly bad patch. Dumped by his girlfriend and unable to get work, Alex finds his life taking a rare upswing when he moves into a new apartment and falls for his neighbor, Lori (Beth Ulrich). But when things start to go wrong between Alex and Lori, their close proximity to each another proves to have an enormous downside, leading to further amusing antics as Ruffalo proves his comedic chops.

The story revolves around a bunch of college students living in a boy’s hostel. The story unfolds over a period of four days in the hostel. Problems begin when a young woman enters the hostel.

When Joan’s husband dies, she is shocked to discover he had invented an elixir which makes the drinker look young again. Sharing it with her two friends, the three women paint the town red but soon discover that they are no longer equipped to be young in the modern world.

Alex wants love and freedom and sleeps with Dietrich. It’s far from being love, but the sex is okay. With Marc, a little person full of dignity, she finds more than that. The rest is struggles with her passengers, the indifferent and the doomed, brutes as other nuisances. This sort of life could go on and on, Alex could drive away from her own life and in doing so lose Marc and not getting rid of Dietrich. Wouldn’t there be a small monkey with the same invincible desire for freedom as hers.

Is such criminal activity rare, or is the media blowing things out of proportion, making cops look like sadistic gunslingers and causing people to distrust them, each other, and most of all, puppets. Is the apocalypse coming, or is the fear-mongering just a great way for News programs to get advertising money? Wait – that makes this movie sound like a serious allegory. Change that. This movie has more wtf moments than you can imagine. It’s high brow and low brow at the same time.
