Set in the late 21st century, an MRI scanner is introduced at the National Research Institute of Police Science’s 9th Forensics Laboratory. The machine is able to scan the memories from even the deceased. As ethical questions arise over the machine’s use, the 9th Forensics Laboratory members, including rookie Ikko Aoki and Chief Tsuyoshi Maki, struggle to solve cases.

After being neglected by her mother, a little girl is taken in by her uncle and his transgender girlfriend, who create a loving home for her.

Hibiki Shimada, a normal 17-year-old high school student, still does not know how to fall in love—although surrounded by love “experts”—until one day she realizes that she’s fallen in love with her hot and nice 26-year-old teacher, Itou. Movie contains the stories of three people: Suzuki (Toma Ikuta), Kujira (Tadanobu Asano) and Semi (Ryosuke Yamada). Suzuki is a former middle school teacher. His girlfriend was killed, which led him to quit his job and attempt to take revenge on her murderer. To do so, Suzuki has to infiltrate the underground world of criminals. Kujira is a contract killer for hire. He makes his targets fall into confusion and eventually commit suicide. Semi is a contract killer who uses the knife to take out his targets.

The cyber crime investigation division at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department finds a video on website “YOURTUBE.” In the video, a man covered by a newspaper, warns that a fire will be set at a food processing company. More crime notices are soon found involving violent crimes. Geitsu is the main guy behind the group “Shinbunshi,” which has posted the videos. He used to work as a temporary employee at an IT company, but was unfairly dismissed. He then begins doing manual labor work and meets the other members of “Shinbushi.”
