When obscenely rich hedge-fund manager James is convicted of fraud and sentenced to a stretch in San Quentin, the judge gives him one month to get his affairs in order. Knowing that he won’t survive more than a few minutes in prison on his own, James desperately turns to Darnell– a black businessman who’s never even had a parking ticket — for help. As Darnell puts James through the wringer, both learn that they were wrong about many things, including each other.
As an ex-gambler teaches a hot-shot college kid some things about playing cards, he finds himself pulled into the world series of poker, where his protégé is his toughest competition.
The film follows “Dylan White” who works as a cook in Baton Rouge. He is also in a solid relationship with his girlfriend “Brandy”. Things are great until strange events prompt him to seek out the truth about himself — following clues, Dylan discovers a dark past in New Orleans. Can he right his past wrongs and find redemption for his sins?
