Madrid, summer 2011. Economic crisis. 15-M movement and 1.5 million pilgrims waiting for the Pope’s arrival live side by side in a Madrid that’s hotter and more chaotic than ever. In this context, detectives Velarde and Alfaro must find what seems to be a serial killer. Their against-the-clock hunt will make them realise something they’d never imagined: neither of them are so very different from the killer.

The search for The Lost City of the Monkey God follows explorer Steve Elkins and a team of archaeologists, anthropologists, scientists and filmmakers in this true-life adventure as they overcome torrential rains, dense jungles, poisonous reptiles and deadly disease carrying flies to search one of the last unexplored places on Earth for a lost Maya city. Using cutting edge laser technology, they can “see” the city hidden in the impenetrable jungle and with the support of the president of Honduras and his army they are able to save the found city from certain destruction and looting and properly excavate and preserve their discovery and begin to solve the mysteries of the lost city.

Artist and filmmaker Philippe Mora (Mad Dog Morgan; The Howling II; Swastika) is producing a graphic novel about his late father, Georges, widely known in Melbourne as a beloved contemporary art patron and owner of bohemian eateries Mirka Café, Café Balzac and the Tolarno Restaurant and Galleries. Less known, however, is Georges’ astonishing history as part of the French resistance during World War II, his friendship with renowned mime Marcel Marceau (Philippe’s godfather), and how together they saved thousands of Jewish lives with a fiendishly simple trick involving baguettes and mayonnaise.

In the 6th Godzilla movie, mysterious aliens from the Planet X ask earth’s people to help them save their world from the dreaded Ghidorah (aka “Monster Zero”) by letting them “borrow” Godzilla and Rodan. Monster mayhem ensues on Planet X, but it’s soon discovered that the aliens have other intentions for the monsters.
