Priya is very conscious of hygiene and her neighbor has a jack fruit tree that makes her porch messy. So, the jack fruit tree becomes the bone of contention between the two families, and the fight on whether it should stay or not continues till the end.

The film is a sequel to Tanu Weds Manu (2011), in which stars Kangana Ranaut (Tanu) and R. Madhavan (Manu) reprise their roles from the original. Tanu and Manu’s marriage collapses. What happens when Manu meets Tanu’s lookalike Kusum – and when Tanu returns? Kangana Ranaut also portrays the additional role of a Haryanvi athlete Kusum in the film.

The story is set in the 1990s in a village and discusses the entry of globalization in there in a satirical manner. Vinayan is a young man, who works as an operator in Sreedevi Talkies, an old ‘C’ class cinema theatre. The owner of the theatre is Madhavan Nair, who is also the godfather of Vinayan.
