Four mental patients – who, due to unauthorized experiments, believe they’re living in a dream and have shed all moral imperatives – escape and find their way to the nearest bus-load of stranded schoolgirls.

In 1988, a detective becomes obsessed with a series of murders that seem to defy explanation. Philadelphia police officer Thomas Lockhart (Boyd Holbrook), hungry to become a detective, begins tracking a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years. But when the killer’s crimes begin to defy all scientific explanation, Locke’s obsession with finding the truth threatens to destroy his career, his family, and possibly his sanity.

Undercover cop Doyle is working on a serial killer case that’s left a trail of dead transvestites. Then, moonlighting as a private eye, Doyle and his girlfriend are hired by a rich young man to find his sister. The search leads to her mysterious uncle, and the possibility of becoming the killer’s next victim.
