This is a remarkable Canadian black comedy that leans towards the themes of the international and the familial. Sarah and Aaron are related, but their live paths have diverged a long time ago. While still solving their personal problems, they have to work together to fulfill the last wish of their Jewish grandmother, who got into a concentration camp aged 15 and has miraculously survived the Holocaust. They have to somehow find the remains of her favorite childhood pet – a dog that could dance on her hind legs, but is long dead and is buried somewhere in Poland. This is a well-formed film that refuses to employ sentimentality just for show.

A group of friends decide to do a ritual to contact the spirit world, but things go bad and a spirit actually appears. One by one the group of friends die, one of them who is not affected by the spirit tries to uncover the truth behind the ghost. He is joined by his sister and a friend who is familiar with the occult. They soon find out that the ghost targets people from a certain village where 66 people died long ago. They desperately try to find a solution to appease the spirit.

This Italian-Turkish co-production helmed by genre veteran Antonio Margheriti (using the pseudonym “Anthony M. Dawson”) was cobbled together from a four-part science-fiction miniseries shown on Italian television. In prehistoric times, the muscular Yor (Reb Brown in a loincloth) saves his cave-babe (Corinne Clery) from a dinosaur just before they get zapped into the future to battle bad guys in the familiar desolate wasteland. Genre stalwart John Steiner (Caligole) and the ubiquitous Luciano Pigozzi co-star with Carol Andre.
