Taira is a disaffected youth from a seaside town reveling in violence. Enamored by his strength, Yuya joins his crusade in attacking strangers. Meanwhile, Taira’s brother looks for him.

Krabat, a beggar boy, is lured to become an apprentice to an evil, one-eyed sorcerer. With a number of other boys, he works at the sorcerer’s mill while learning black magic. Every Christmas one of the boys has to face the master in a magical duel, where the boy never stands a chance because the master is the only person who is allowed to use a secret spell: The Koraktor.

The film centres on a group of Mattayom 6 (Grade 12) students who meet in Siam Square to attend one of the cram schools. Jublek (Morakot Liu) is mad at her best friend May (Eisaya Hosuwan) and that leads them to split from the others, disappearing out of sight from their tutor school classmates. A group of boys led by the foul-mouthed Mon (Nathasit Kotimanuswanich) is also hanging round. They have a neat little racket going, uploading shows to YouTube and charging per view. They’ve heard that a ghost lives in the cram school they attend but when they try and find the spirit find themselves in hot water.

The story of communist show-trial victim Milada Horáková. Horáková was one of the first victims of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. She opposed the communist coup in 1948 but did not leave the country. She was arrested and tried for treason on fabricated charges in a show trial that was broadcast on the radio and shown in film clips. The film focuses on the time from 1945 to 1950 when the communists took over, but also goes back a little further in Horáková’s life into the late 1930s
