The story of two contrasting characters, Orhan and Ali, whose paths cross in some way. Orhan is quite bold and fearless. He is a well-respected figure in the underground world who never leaves his money behind in the market and engages in loan sharking with the men he has gathered around him. In Orhan’s life, women come and go. Ali, who has chosen a white-collar, straightforward life for himself, is quite shy and one day, while buying a ring for the woman he wants to marry, he finds himself in the middle of a robbery. When all kinds of troubles come upon him, he takes refuge in his brother, who engages in loan sharking in the underground world.

When a robbery goes awry, the bandits all end up in a puddle of blood and only one lives and goes to jail for five years. Upon his release, the girlfriend wants her new boyfriend to kill him. Only trouble is the boyfriend knows that the fault was not the ex-con’s and can’t bring himself to do the task. Meanwhile, the ex-con tries to turn his life around by becoming a boxer and training under a former heavyweight contender.

The horrors of war are examined from the view points of lifelong friends (Linus Roache, Vincent Perez), who end up on opposing sides in the civil war in Sarajevo. One is an expert marksman, who trains the snipers used to terrify the city and the other becomes a freedom fighter, who rejects his friend’s offer to gain an escape from the city.
