The story of a group of friends, all around 30, who live in the Le Panier district of Marseille, France. It’s not a bad life, made up of slightly shady dealings, nights out, sun and just hanging out. Alas, Veronika is left out in the cold when Max becomes enamored with gorgeous tourist Helene (Grete Natzler). Little does he know that Helene is the daughter of the Grand Duke (Ivan Simpson), meaning of course that their romance is doomed to disappointment. Leading lady Grete Natzler later changed her screen name to Della Lynd, and under that cognomen co-starred with Laurel & Hardy in Swiss Miss (1938).

In a province where most housewives are deprived of intimacy by their busy husbands, a new savings cooperative is introduced by a merchant. The salary to claim: cash or a night with a mysterious man. The women surely know what to choose.
